WHAT CAN CUSTOM WINE BAGS DO FOR MY BUSINESS?

Each year, more and more of our customers are investing in having their paper bags printed with their store name and logo. They appreciate  the benefits that come from “branding” their business.

Packaging printed with your store name is a walking advertisement. It’s another way to get your name out there for anyone to see.

Having a brand identity gives your customers confidence in you as a stable, dependable purveyor.

Packaging printed with your name shows your pride in your business. It helps justify your prices being slightly higher than the “generic” store down the street. It gives extra cache to the bottle which is brought as a gift, while advertising to the recipient where that great bottle comes from.

People tend to keep nice bags to re-use. It’s just too hard to throw away good looking packaging.

Seeing your name in print helps folks remember it  so they can refer other customers.  It reinforces any other advertising you do.

WHAT ARE THE MOST POPULAR BAGS TO IMPRINT?

KRAFT BAGS

The number one items that our customers have personalized  are the one and two bottle bags in bleached white or natural kraft.  Unlike most post-production printers, our supplier accepts orders with a low minimum of 500 pieces. You can select from among 20 ink colors or have them hot stamped in a shiny foil for a few pennies more per bag. There is a one-time charge to make your printing plate which is kept on file for you as long as you order once every 2 years. When you email your art or have us set up your copy, we can tell you what the plate charge will be. For the largest block of copy, the one time cost is about $150.00. A smaller logo costs less.  If you need a design, we can quote on an art charge.

Some of our customers also like to have matching bags in other sizes. We have Accessory bags,  Newport bags, and Large Shoppers, in both natural brown and bleached white.

We also have natural brown kraft wine bags with metallic tints of copper or gold or silver on the outside.

And this year we’re introducing 3 new colors, Chocolate Brown, Olive Green and Burnt Orange. These “Tints on Kraft” are priced slightly higher.

HOW DO I ORDER?

Easy!

If you have a logo, send  it to custom@moranusa.com. It should be in Adobe Illustrator format. (If it is not on your computer, whomever does your letterhead or business cards or advertising will have it.)

Tell us which bag you would like and where on the bag you would like your printing placed. If you do 2 sides, the upcharge is 25 cents per bag. Tell us what color ink you would like.

We have a knowledgeable, friendly and competent custom printing advisor who will call or email to confirm your order. She’ll even set up the type if you just want your store name and address, phone number, website – whatever - without a logo (symbol or picture.) This is free of charge for one set of proofs.

Before the plate is made, you’ll get a proof to approve. Sign off on it and your order will be started.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Custom printing takes 3 – 4 weeks from the time you approve your proof. During the busy fall season, it can be longer, so try to order NOW for the fall.

Customers who print their paper bags and/or Eco totes with us order again and again. They report that their customers love their bags. Call us at (800) 486-6726 or email custom@moranusa.com and ask for a free sample of any bag.

Twang Beer Salts celebrate 25 years! - Have you introduced your customers to Twang beer salts?

Adding lime to beer has long been a Mexican tradition.  The Michelada is a cerveza preparada made with beer, lime juice and assorted sauces, spices and peppers, served in a chilled, salt-rimmed glass. Recipes vary from town to town, family to family. The big brewers have recognized the growing popularity of “spicing up” beer with such brands as Miller Brewing Company’s “Miller Chill”, and Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser Chelada and Bud Light Chelada. Tecate, the Mexican brewer, flavors their Michelada with lime and spices as well.

Any lager, pilsner or “hoppy” IPAs can have the same bright taste sensation by rimming the bottle neck or glass with Twang’s lemon, lemon-lime or  “hot lime” beer salts. You “dress” the beer by rubbing the rim of the glass or the opening of the bottle with any citrus juice, (or just moisten it with your tongue,) and sprinkle on the salt.

All three Twang flavors come in the cutest little 3” high “long neck” bottles packed either in a 24 bottle counter display, a hanging display or a little 3 pack.

View our complete line of Twang Beer Salts

Twang is a natural product consisting of salt, citric acid and natural citrus flavor. The hot “Caliente 86”, (named for the year the Trevinos introduced Twang,) has natural cayenne pepper. The lemon and the lemon/lime flavors also come in a display of 200 little single-serve packets. Use it just as you do the bottled Twang. You can even add it to chicken veggies, chips, popcorn, you name it, to brighten up the flavor of those foods.

Moran USA  also carries Twang brand’s Margaritaville Salts and Twangarita Bloody Mary and Lemon-Lime rimming salts.

The folks at Twang want to share with you the recipes for some beer cocktails made with Twang.

Here are three of the  Trevino Family’s favorite drinks from  Mexico and the American Southwest.

Protecting your merchandise from theft with Avery-Dennison labels.

Did you know that Avery-Dennison pricing labels can help you retain your hard-earned profits just by the way they are configured?
Permanent labels come in White (SKU #83202), Red (SKU#83205)and Yellow (SKU#83208)
Permanent labels come in White (SKU#83305),Red (SKU#83320), and Yellow (SKU#83314)
Two of the most common means that unscrupulous consumers use are switching the “sale” label on a clearance item to a full-price bottle or switching the label of a lower-priced bottle to a higher-priced bottle. The right label can prevent this from happening with no intervention on your part.

Avery Dennison permanent labels are “tamper-evident”. This means that the cuts built into the labels make it impossible to remove or switch labels without a part of the label being left behind on the bottle. This makes it more difficult and time-consuming to remove a label, and impossible to reposition it on another bottle.
This feature is found on the following labels that we carry at Moran USA:

For the Monarch 1130 one line, 6 digit labeler:

BottleLox Protects Your Wine and Spirits

BottleLox protects your costly bottles from shoplifters

Now you can stop the loss of expensive bottles with a reusable device that foils shoplifters, and costs only $3.25 for the first bottle you use it on and is free thereafter.Moran USA Item #63012 fits most bottles. For bigger bottles, order Moran USA Item # 63023. Both are $3.25 per piece. Minimum of 72 pieces per size.  The Moran USA Item # for the detacher is 63456. Price is $75.00.  View our line of BottleLox products in our online store.

BottleLox is made from a polycarbonate that is stronger than steel. Would-be thieves need to break a bottle in order to open it, because they cannot break a BottleLox.

BottleLox is clear, so that it does not interfere with the design of the bottle. As an extra feature, BottleLox is equipped with AM and RF frequency tags that work with doorway alarms, if such a system is in place. However, just the fact that a bottle is “wearing” a Bottle Lox is enough of a deterrent to shop-lifters.

The device snaps on to the bottle with one motion. It can be opened only when tapped against the magnetic detacher kept at the register.

View the video below to see a demonstration of this amazing money-saving device.

Use BottleLox again and again. A small investment will give you peace of mind for years.

Protect your investment in wine with commercial wine refrigeration.

For wine purveyors interested in providing the correct controls for temperature, humidity and exposure to light while protecting their costly investments, there are a number of options available to achieve this purpose.

What to Consider When Storing Wine

Fluctuations in temperature will impact how wine ages. Without control over the proper humidity level, the cork is subject to expansion and contraction. Storing wine bottles on their sides ensures their corks remain wet, which allows for proper consistent expansion. This is essential in preventing wine from escaping while keeping oxygen from causing it to turn to vinegar.

Further, the exposure to fluorescent light can cause wine to age faster. Ultra-violet light is capable of penetrating even dark wine bottles. Wines that are over exposed to light may be rendered undrinkable due to a condition known as being "light struck." Wine is a living spirit reacting either positively or negatively to its environment. Vibration caused by devices or produced by sound waves will disturb sediments and interfere with the process of fermentation.

What's All the Fuss About Serving Temperature?

Tannins are more assertive and a characteristic quality of red wines while the fruitiness in a cooler wine will balance this dry, sometimes bitter compound. Similarly, the acidity of a wine can be enhanced when chilled. A perception of higher acidity will add a refreshing quality to the wine, which is really why both white and red wines are chilled. Serving wines that are too warm does a god job of bringing out all the imperfections.

Recommended Serving Temperatures:

  • Medium to Full-Bodied Red Wines: 62-66°F or 16-18°C
  • Medium to Light-Bodied Red Wines: 55-60°F or 12-16°C
  • Medium to Full-Bodied White Wines: 50°F or 10°C
  • Light to Medium-Bodied White Wines: 45-50°F or 7-10°C
  • Rose, Blush and Dry White Wines: 46-57°F or 8-14°C

Refrigeration Products

Choose from small economical units to full-size merchandisers. We even carry a compact counter-top wine chiller with capacity for upright storage of eight opened bottles and a glass panel for viewing labels. This unit will become invaluable to your operation whenever you prepare for serving. Browse our full range of Summit refrigeration products to find the best solution for all your wine storing and serving needs.

The common enemies that will undermine a fine wine collection are easy enough to avoid when proper storage methods are used. Standard refrigerators that are also used to store food will introduce the threat of pervasive smells or flavors that can taint the wine through the cork. Sharing regular refrigeration will also subject wine to temperatures that are too cold and an atmosphere that is too dry.

In general, the ideal conditions for storing wine is a temperature that ranges between 45-55 degrees Fahrenheit or 8-13 degrees Celsius with 70 percent humidity. This is why a wine cellar is often a preferred method of storage.

For storing reds and whites at their proper temperatures in the same Summit wine cellar, visit www.moranusa.com and take a look at these gorgeous models: SWC1545, SWC1875, SWC1875B and SWC1965. All are commercially approved and their elegant styling and competitive pricing would also make a beautiful addition to the home wine cellar.

At their essence, each wine has an ideal serving temperature as it influences four distinctive aspects of how the mind perceives wine: aromatics, acidity, sugars and tannins. When wine is too hot, the alcohol can overpower the aromatics; too cold, and there may be no sense of the layered aromatic compounds that are experienced when the temperature is just right.

We recommend the Summit STC-1 counter-top wine chiller to properly prepare your wines for serving.  This no mess solution will protect your investment and please your customers.  View the Summit STC-1.

Newly introduced in 2012, the compact counter-top wine chiller, STC-1 is the perfect tool for winery tasting rooms and in-shop tastings . Set on the counter, the STC-1 stores 8 bottles of wine upright. With the digital temperature control set anywhere between 46 and 66 degrees  F,  proper serving temperature will be maintained throughout the day.

Many of our winery customers have purchased multiple units for their tasting rooms. They appreciate having their wine in full view of their customers, chilled and ready to serve. A glass window allows full view of the wine labels. Operation is completely quiet, with no damaging vibrations. This earth-friendly unit has no CFCs, HCFCs or other environment damaging chemicals. Parts and labor are warrantied for one year.

Humidity, temperature and light are all easily controlled with any of our Summit Commercial Wine Refrigeration products.  Special features, on select models, include digital controls that allow you to set different temperature zones within the same cooler for a variety of wines to be stored at their optimal cooling temperatures. There are dual-, three- and multi-zoned coolers with shelves that easily slide to adjust for visibility and accessibility.
